The game mechanics of the browser game Universal Monsters Online

Universal Monsters Online is a so-called MOBA game – a massive online battle arena game. In such a browser game, players or teams of players compete against each other and try to achieve victory. Most of these browser games are free and you can also play Universal Monsters Online for free. In Universal Monsters Online you can choose from a variety of characters from classic horror films – whether as the Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula or as one of the many other fearsome monsters, in this action game you decide which monster you prefer to smash your enemies as . And that’s exactly how the game principle works: your team has to destroy the enemy village and cause as much destruction as possible, because this gives you experience points and allows you to develop your monster as you wish. Once the heart of the opposing village – the towers – are destroyed, it’s a matter of who can catch the damsel in distress first!

All playable characters in this 3D action game are monsters from the well-known Universal horror films and the selection is constantly being expanded. There are currently a total of 14 monsters available: Count Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, Frankenstein’s Bride, the Gill Man, the Wolf Man, the Invisible Man, the Mummy, the Phantom of the Opera, the Melatuna Mutant, the Mole Man, the Man-Made Monster and Dracula’s daughter Zaleska.

Each monster has different weaknesses and strengths, which are reflected in the six main property values. These include Health, Mana, Ability Power, Constitution, Dexterity and Luck. Health determines the number of life points. If this value is 0, the monster has died. Mana represents the number of ability points available and Ability Power determines the strength of the abilities. Constitution gives resistance to damage and Dexterity gives chance to dodge. Luck ultimately represents the chance of a critical hit. In addition, there are composite secondary stats – these are Dodge (the evasion value), Critical Strike (the chance of a critical hit), Health regeneration (the health point regeneration) and Mana regeneration (the regeneration of ability points).

The higher the level of your monster, the more skills your monster can learn and give you advantages in defensive or offensive combat. Each monster has a different range of abilities. Further reinforcements come from the variety of equipment and items that you can use to further improve your monster. Items can be purchased at any time in the in-game shop with real money or in-game currency, although some are only unlocked at a higher level.

Graphics and download from Universal Monsters Online

The graphics are entirely in a horror comic style. Thanks to the Unity engine, the browser game creates attractive graphics and the monsters in particular are realistically depicted. The landscapes are arranged isometrically during the fights and the player always sees the action from a god-like position above his monster. During the selection phases and the further development of your monster, you play in a program-like screen with different tabs. These tabs represent all the options you have as a player outside of battles. You can view and develop the characteristics and abilities of your monster, you can buy equipment and items and you can visit the in-game shop.

The monster game has been in the open beta phase since October 2012 and unfortunately the monster game is one of the few browser games that is only available in English. As a browser game, Universal Monsters Online only requires a download – you also have to register and you can get started. There are no costs to you, you can play Universal Monsters Online for free – only some premium items cost money, but these are purely optional and not mandatory for progressing in the game. You can easily register on the Universal Monsters online game website. So you too can experience great adventures in one of the few monster browser games – don’t be afraid of the monster, be the monster!
