The SFU team returned with medals from the Worldskills standards championship “DigitalSkills 2021”

On September 24 in Kazan, the results of the III Industry Championship according to Worldskills standards in the field of information technology DigitalSkills 2021, held from September 21 at the Kazan EXPO IEC, were summed up. Students of the Southern Federal University are among the winners of the championship.

At the closing ceremony of the III Industry Championship on WorldSkills standards in the field of information technology DigitalSkills 2021, the winners and participants were thanked by the Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Maxim Parshin.

“The skills, knowledge and abilities demonstrated by the competition participants are forming a completely new economic structure. Thanks to them, society, the state and business develop. Digital transformation is exactly what is at the forefront now. I would like to thank all the participants and winners from the bottom of my heart for the great work that was done, and I believe that this work will make a huge contribution to the development of the country!” noted the Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development.

“Students and employees of our university have been taking part in the DigitalSkills industry championship since 2017. This year, the university team took part in nine competitions and became one of the largest at the championship – 25 representatives. Experts note that competition tasks have become more complex and require very serious preparation for implementation and further evaluation,” said team leader of the SFU team Anton Kumov .

The SFedU team has three medals: gold medals from 4th year IFZhiMKK student Elena Kochash in the competency “Teaching English in a distance format” and 3rd year students of IKTIB Sergei Batagov and Danil Shevtsov in the competency “Development of solutions using blockchain technologies”, a bronze medal from IKTIB assistant Vadim Prudnikov in the “Quantum Technologies” competency.

In total, 35 competencies in the field of information and digital technologies were presented at the Championship. Traditionally, a significant part of competencies consists of FutureSkills. These include competencies based on new technologies and cross-competencies that arise during the transformation of traditional industries under the influence of digital technologies.

The organizers of the championship are the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the autonomous non-profit organization “Agency for the Development of Professional Excellence (WorldSkills Russia)”.
