On March 24, a solemn ceremony was held in Indonesia to sign an agreement on the implementation of the joint project of SFU – UNTAG “Research and development of technologies for obtaining new materials and diagnosing the state of solids using mathematical modeling methods and natural experiment” (2022–2024)
Ivan Parinov , chief researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Sciences. I. I. Vorovich SFU, Doctor of Technical Sciences:
“Great prospects are opening up for SFU in the development of scientific and educational activities and the possible implementation of its developments in one of the richest Asian countries. Since 2016, our joint research has resulted not only in the holding of PHENMA-2016 in the city of Surabaya, but also in almost two dozen joint publications in the world’s leading publishing houses. Obviously, an influx of students and graduate students into various faculties at SFU is possible, as well as an exchange of students and scientists between our universities.”
The three-year research project involves the development and improvement of the electrophysical and mechanical properties of promising materials with a high-temperature Curie point, the study of materials with a flexoelectric effect, the assessment of the influence of inhomogeneous polarization in polycrystalline ferroelectrics on wave processes in acoustic media, as well as the study of promising piezoelectric devices for various applications.
The Indonesian side faces the challenges of obtaining alternative materials, especially organic materials used to improve the quality of mechanical and physical properties of polymer matrix composites, as well as developing reinforcement for briquette products for alternative and sustainable energy sources.
